GEMMA WENT INTO CHEFFING AGED 21, SHE  HAD HER FIRST ROLE FOR SLIMS KITCHEN ON THE LISBURN ROAD WHILE DOING A CULINARY MASTERS COURSE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ULSTER.
 

FOR FOUR YEARS GEMMA CONTINUED TO BOTH STUDY AND WORK FULL TIME AT A VARIETY OF GREAT NORTHERN IRISH. ESTABLISHMENTS AND ROSE THE RANKS FROM COMMIS CHEF TO SOUS CHEF OF A 2 ROSETTE KITCHEN. SOON AFTER EARNING A FIRST CLASS HONOURS GEMMA BEGAN WORK AT THE FITZWILLIAM HOTEL IN BELFAST (5* hotel) AS THE HEAD PASTRY CHEF, BEFORE MOVING TO LUXURY HOTEL THE OLD INN,CRAWFORDSBURN, WHERE SHE WORKED A NUMBER OF  SECTIONS AS SOUS CHEF.

IN 2019 SHE SET UP A PECULIAR TEA WHICH IS A POP UP THAT DOES IMAGINATIVE DINNERS AND DESSERTS. SHE IS NOW ALSO CO-OWNER AND EXECUTIVE CHEF OF ALEXANDERS & CO
